Our Story

“As far back as I can remember into my childhood, trucking has always been a part of my life.”

As far back as I can remember into my childhood, trucking has always been a part of my life.  Growing up, my dad was an owner-operator with his own drivers at times, so I got to see first-hand how the trucking industry worked and how running a business needed to be conducted.

My dad was gone a lot during the week providing for his family, but on the weekends we spent every moment together that we could.  A lot of the times this meant handing dad tools while he worked on his truck, and getting an education on truck maintenance and repair.  My dad will tell you that “why” was my favorite word because I would constantly ask about everything he was doing in the shop. Today with my own company I still do a lot of the maintenance and repairs on trucks, all of which I got to learn on the long nights and weekends in the shop.

In 2005 after completing my business and marketing education, I became an owner-operator myself. I continued this until 2007 when I chose to step out of the trucking industry into the finance world, which taught me a lot about the financial aspects of running a business. Ultimately, I decided to go back to my trucking roots, taking my education and work experience with me to help me start up my own company in 2011. I started out hauling frac sand with my own truck and trailer and even dabbled in the cattle industry for a time due to the ups and downs of the oil industry-whatever I had to do to keep busy and growing. At this time I hired a couple of drivers who are still with me today.

In 2015 I pursued a connection with another company, Stier Trucking, that hauls liquid agricultural feed products out of Minnesota typically, to various places around the Midwest. Partnering with this company has improved and increased the consistency of available work and has helped to grow our company. Together still today, we have grown larger and haul products such as molasses, fertilizer, whey, de-icer, and various vegetable byproducts throughout the Midwest, West, and at times, Eastern United States.

Our company has truly become a family business over the years as my wife, Amanda, has taken over the full-time duties of running the office.  She handles the day-to-day business affairs, oversees human resource matters, and handles the advertising and marketing for us.  Our three sons, now one, three, and six, are starting to spend time with their dad in the shop too on weekends, and are learning the ropes just as I did as a kid. Our oldest son’s favorite word also seems to be ‘why’?!

We are truly an extended family business even, as my brother-in-law was the first driver I hired and is still with us today.  My dad also drives for us and while he still is in the shop with me at times, he gets to enjoy more free time with his grandkids and drives over the road during the week.

Having a family-like work environment has helped us to build personable relationships with all of our employees and customers, and has helped us grow to where we are today.  Every employee is appreciated and respected, and treated as an invaluable asset to our company.
